Rank® machines
The Rank® machines produce electrical energy or high-temperature heat from a low-temperature heat source, improving the economic and environmental benefits of the processes.
The first product developed by Rank® is the Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC). This technology is especially suitable for the revalorisation of low temperature or small power heat sources to produce clean electrical energy and useful heat at a lower temperature. Among the main applications of Rank® ORC equipment, waste heat recovery and the use of renewable heat sources stand out. These are systems of special interest when the useful heat is used in other processes to form cogeneration or trigeneration systems.
The latest product developed by Rank® is the High-Temperature Heat Pump, HTHP. These systems allow the production of very high-temperature heat (up to 160 ° C) by consuming between 2 and 4 times less electric energy. They are highly energy-efficient equipment when waste heat is available at a low temperature to reduce the temperature lift between the heat sink and source. Another application of the Rank® HP equipment is the simultaneous production of heat and cold, with a small supply of electricity.
In both cases, ORC and HP, Rank® offers machines that are capable of adapting to a great variety of temperatures and heating available/required.
Rank® general catalog
A Rank® machine for every need
Whatever your need is, we have a Rank® module that can be adapted to it, through various products that cover a wide range of thermal and power applications.
The offer of Rank® products is divided into four categories (LT, MT, HT and HTC) as a function of the input temperature of the heat source to the ORC machine. Then, each category is divided into three models (1, 2, 3, and 4), depending on the output electric power generated. Consequently, there is a Rank® machine capable of generating electricity efficiently for each specific case, at different temperatures and heat.
Therefore, the Rank® machines are connected to heat sources with inlet temperatures between 90 °C and 210 °C and thermal power input between 100
We also offer the MICRO category, which allows recovering heat between 20 and 45 kWt and 90 and 120 ° C.

The Rank® HP product range supports a wide variety of heat source inlet and heat production temperatures. In turn, Rank® HP products are divided into 4 models (1, 2, 3 and 4) based on the levels of thermal power needed in the process. Therefore, there is a Rank® HP machine capable of generating useful heat at high temperatures efficiently in a wide range of heating capacities and temperatures.
All in all, Rank® HP units are capable of producing high-temperature heat between 100ºC and 160ºC, and heating capacity between 120 kWt and 2,000 kWt.

When there are demands for useful heat with temperatures above 100°C, the Rank® HP equipment allows to take advantage of lower temperature heat sources and satisfy the demands of useful heat at a higher temperature. It is a high-temperature heat pump, with maximum temperatures of heat production of 140ºC and COP values of 4.
