Engines

Reciprocating internal combustion engines are a widespread and well-known technology. They are available for many applications, with powers ranging from a few kilowatts to over 5 MW. Rank® equipment can increase the power generation and, therefore, the efficiency of these systems.

Types of fuels for engines

Natural gas

One of the heat sources used in combustion engines is the exhaust gases, with temperatures that reach 400 ºC.

Biogas

The cooling systems of the engine and the lubrication oil can also be used, although the temperatures in this case are lower.

Gasoil

In addition to combustion engines with natural gas or biogas, the waste heat of diesel engines can also be used.
